Rooney Wins Punta Gorda Tea Party Straw Poll with Overwhelming Support

Punta Gorda, Florida – U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney (R-FL) earned a decisive victory in this week’s Punta Gorda Tea Party straw poll, finishing with an overwhelming 87.6 percent of the votes cast.

“I am proud to have the strong support of the Punta Gorda Tea Party,” Rooney said. “I look forward to working with them this November to finish the job we started in the 2010 election. We need committed, principled conservatives in Washington to cut spending, get our debt under control, and ensure a bright and prosperous future for our nation.”
